Conference Call March 21, 2007 Called to order at 6:02PST

Agenda: Information technology committee

Note: we need who attended.

Opened meeting with a prayer by Buck to seek the will of our Father.

Robert opened the meeting to discuss ideas about our IT and website. No motions will be passed, as motions and voting will be saved for face to face meeting whenever possible.

Discussion ensued. An outline of the questions and thoughts below.

* We need to clearly define the problem we are trying to solve by making or changing the constitution or an amendment. And then clearly explain how changing the constitution solves the problems identified.
* If changing the constitution is an effective way for moving the revelation forward, are there other issues we intend to solve by constitutional changes?
* It is clear we need additional support for IT efforts
* And it is important that we always consider the best use of our resources (especially people)
* IT requires a level of certifiable ability, not good intent.
* Distinction between technical and the social functions,
* Amendments should be considered for positive reasons, not to solve problems.
* It is clear that we need additional support for IT
* Twelve years ago IT wasn’t big, but today it is highly relevant. We have committees that reflect the work we do, and IT is doing a great deal of work.
* The council needs to have some way of making sure that what is done through the IT especially the internet, reflects what the Fellowship wants to accomplish and how we want to present ourselves to the public. Need a way to evaluate objectively whether the resources are being properly used.
* We need a policy document with the aims and objectives for website development, a set of procedures that would serve as an outline of our expectations.
* There is a distinction between social and technical functions.
* There are levels to distinction as in the social side there is reader vs non-readers.

Meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM Pacific Time
