I am responding to your letter of July 25th, 1999. First of all, please know that many of the friends you mention in the last paragraph have received your personal regards with gratitude.
Regarding your request that The Fellowship remove the French translation from our web site, we must refer you to the Foundation Trustees, with whom we have an agreement regarding the display of The Urantia Book. This agreement requires that we meet the following three terms: that we do not charge fees for use of the text; that the text remain inviolate; that Urantia Foundation’s copyright notice be displayed in the first few pages of the Urantia Book. We are now and will continue to be in compliance, as my letter of February 9th, 1999 to Urantia Foundation indicates.
The letter from Urantia Foundation of January 19th, 1999, in which this agreement was proposed, also contained these reassuring words:
“You have the entire Urantia Book on your web site, and we’re thankful that people are finding the revelation through your web site. We think that your having the Urantia Book on your site is a positive way to foster dissemination of its teachings. In fact, we want you to have the book in all completed translations.” The letter went on to state that acceptance of the three terms (mentioned above) would bring our web site into copyright compliance, “...affording you the use and flexibility you deserve.”
Regarding your second request, that we remove photographs of you from our web site, it was done immediately upon receipt of your letter.
Respectfully yours,
Janet Farrington Graham
