1998 Annual Report of the Education Committee
Michelle Klimesh

Dear Friends,

This year the Education Committee worked with local area readers to present the 1998 Summer Study Sessions at Mount Vernon College in Washington DC, July 9-12.

A Wrightwood Series, "Cult and The Urantia Book" has been initiated by Alison Gardner. The assembled panel of authors, all first-time Wrightwood participants, include: Steven Hecht, Joan Neumann Wentworth, Neal Waldrop, Christel Garrick, Phil Geiger, Dan Massey, and Rebecca Kantor. Publication is planned for Spring of 1999, preliminary to a major panel presentationworkshop at IC99. ,

Charles Olivea and Stephen Zendt will soon initiate another Wrightwood Series on Parables. This effort will be the Education committee's fifth Wrightwood Series.

Steve Dreier stepped down as Chairman of the Education Committee to serve as Vice-President in April. Since the work for 1998 has been humming along without me, I have been spending my time reviewing the reports of the Education Committee's work for the past 42 years. I have also been percolating ideas about the committee's future, which I suspect will increasingly make use of Internet technology.

The members of the Education Committee wish to thank the General Council for giving us an opportunity to be of service.

Sincerely,

Michelle Klimesh, Chair
