Uversa Press report to the General Council
June 2005
Harry McMullan

Dear Friends,

The principal Uversa Press event for the period January 1 to June 30,
2005 was printing a leather and case bound version of our new 3rd
edition of the Urantia Book. In this edition the text was improved by
the correction of several errors that had slipped through on our 2nd
edition. We also slightly increased the page size to give the text a
nicer appearance, and used a much higher quality and slightly thicker
paper for increased opacity and brightness. The change in page size and
thickness required adjustments to the dust jacket, and we ordered the
leather edition in a presentation box for which we designed artwork
based on the casebound edition dust jacket. RR Donnelly, our printer,
is
(thank goodness!) a stickler for prepress checking, and over a period
of
several months we exchanged more than 50 emails regarding details of
the
job. As far as I can tell, Donnelly flawlessly carried out their work.
The project cost was $81,785, for which we received 4,329 case bound
books and 1,123 genuine leather books. $50,000 of this cost was offset
by a donation from a generous supporter.

I wish to thank Avi Dogim, Steve Dreier and John Hay, the other members
of the committee, each of whom was deeply and most helpfully involved
in
this project. The marketing aspect of Uversa Press is being handled by
John Hay, who will report separately on those activities.

All of the Uversa Press books are stored at the Alliance plant in
Oklahoma City, from which they are shipped out to fulfill orders. The
distribution details are reported below.

Respectfully,
Harry McMullan, Chairman
