Finance Committee Report, June 2008

1. Thanks to a suggestion from David Kantor, The Finance Committee sent
out its mid year solicitation letter early this year to coincide with
most peoples government stimulus checks, and we received quite a good
response. We got in about $38,000 from this recent effort. So far this
year, we are close to target having received about $141,000 this year
through May as compared with the budget of $121,000 for this time period.

2. Don Green, the committee’s secretary, has been calling the auto
debit donors to see if they’ll up their monthly donations. If the up by
$10 per month they get a free set of the Jesus CDs, and if they up by
$20 or more they get all 3 sets for free. About 65% of the donors, that
we’ve talked to, have agreed to the increase. It is, however, very hard
to reach most people, as we only have their home phone numbers and we
want to talk with them rather than just email. So, this project will
probably take another year to complete. As it is, this auto debit
program, that Robert Burns started several years ago, brings in over
$80,000 a year in donations to the Fellowship and is the mainstay of our
donor programs.
