General Council Meeting of July 6, 2008
The Secretary is responsible for recording the minutes of meetings of the General Council and the minutes of meetings of the Fifth Epochal Fellowship Corporation. Other responsibilities include the preparation of an annual census of the members of The Urantia Book Fellowship. The census for 2007 is given below along with numbers reported in 2006 and 2005.
Societies are listed in the order in which they were chartered. A total of twenty five society charters were issued since 1955. Eight of these societies have since ceased to exist or are functionally inactive. There census report given below is based upon the seventeen currently active societies plus the number of members-at-large.
It is likely that the 2007 reported number of 1172 members is high. Several societies did not report this year (asterisk) so their numbers are best estimates. In addition, several reporting societies suggested that their accounting is somewhat high.
