Addendum to IFC Report, January 2006
Dear Friends;
Some items you should know about which I did not want to include in my more
public report on International developments:
The Jesuits in Quito are well along on a project to complete a Spanish audio
version of The Urantia Book. They have a very well equipped studio and some
professional "voices" available in their Quito facility. From Quito they manage
their Latin American networks. The leader of the Jesuit group once told me, "We
Jesuits feel that Part IV of The Urantia Book holds more hope for the youth of
Ecuador than anything we've come across." I must remind you that in Ecuador,
75% of the population is under the age of 25.
The Lithuanians are completing production work on a CD which will contain the
text of The Urantia Book. There are ongoing problems with getting books into
distribution. The Foundation's initial print run was only 1,500 books and their
financ! ial situation is such that a reprint appears to be a distant hope. Their
initial shipment to Lithuania has sold out. There are presently some aggressive
evangelists for the revelation working in Lithuania and the CDs may become the
medium of choice--more than 5,000 have been distributed in Latin America.
Yuri Boyer's group in Kiev is very interested in doing a Ukrainian translation
of the book. I hope to visit with them this summer. I may even be able to get
down to Palestine and visit with Maher again -- we shall see.
I'm looking forward to seeing each of you in Dallas.
David
