Urantia BROTHERHOOD BULLETIN Statement of Income and Expense of Urantia Brotherhood for year ended December 31, 1964, is attached. During 1964, 622 Urantia Books were distributed. In 1963, 593 were distributed. Total books sold or otherwise disseminated has reached 6,692. Publication of the second edition of the book will have to be in the not too distant future. The Committee on Education announces that another study session will be held in Chicago this summer and the dates have been set for Friday and Saturday, August 6 and 7, 1965, with a possible session Sunday morning, August 8. Definite plans for the subjects and teachers have not been made, but there wil be a further announcement in the next Bulletin. These sessions will be open to anyone who is interested in the Urantia Book and we hope that many of you will plan to attend. The date for the annual meeting of the General Council of Urantia Brotherhood has been set for Sunday, August 8, 1965, at 2 P.M. Formal notification will be given all members shortly before the meeting. The First Urantia Society of Oklahoma has elected new officers and they are: President, George Ande; Vice-President, John Lawton; Secretary, Mary Lawton; and Treasurer, Van Butler. The Los Angeles Urantia Society and study groups are enjoying the benefits of the first extension course to be authorized by the Urantia Brotherhood School. Mrs. Ruth Burton, a member of the faculty of the School, an Ordained Teacher, and a regular instructor in the School in Chicago, is presenting "The Urantia Book and the New Testament" to our West Coast friends. Because of the many miles separating the various groups she is teaching the same course three times a week at locations in Los Angeles, Pasadena, and Santa Monica. The course is a minor, requiring 16 hours of classwork, and students will receive credit toward a Certified Leader certificate. The Urantia Brotherhood School will begin the second semester on February 10, continuing courses: Analytic Study of Part I, the first ten papers of the Urantia Book, conducted by Dr. William S. Sadler, and Doctrine I by Alvin Kulieke. Text books for these courses, as well as all other text books, are still available. In his January 3, 1965, report to the Urantia Foundation, covering the period of October, November, and December, 1964, Mr. Jacques Weiss reports: "25 more sets have been sold during the quarter, most of them in the first half. This brings the total (French edition) to exactly 900, less a few unsold deposits, and my determination to push forward remains unaltered. But I must find new means to reach a wider public, and, as you will see, I remain fully active in the field."
