Things to Remember

  • Jesus lived a life of non-resistance and brotherly love. He asks that we do the same.

  • "Is unselfishness--the spirit of self-forgetfulness desirable? Then must mortal man live face-to-face with the incessant clamoring of an inescapable self for recognition and honor"--but we forget that God already knows all there is to know.

  • Disputation of any kind, whether in the home or in some community activity, has no intrinsic spiritual value--and eventually it will perish along with the material brain.

  • "If once you understand your neighbor, you will become tolerant and this tolerance will grow into friendship and ripen into love."

  • Jesus' message is totally personal, inapplicable to society as a whole. Societies must evolve. The way of Jesus simply shows the way.  It may take a millennium--that's not our problem. Our problem also is totally personal.
