Things to Remember
Jesus lived a life of non-resistance and brotherly love. He asks that we do the same.
"Is unselfishness--the spirit of self-forgetfulness desirable? Then must mortal man live face-to-face with the incessant clamoring of an inescapable self for recognition and honor"--but we forget that God already knows all there is to know.
Disputation of any kind, whether in the home or in some community activity, has no intrinsic spiritual value--and eventually it will perish along with the material brain.
"If once you understand your neighbor, you will become tolerant and this tolerance will grow into friendship and ripen into love."
Jesus' message is totally personal, inapplicable to society as a whole. Societies must evolve. The way of Jesus simply shows the way. It may take a millennium--that's not our problem. Our problem also is totally personal.
