The 1999 Parliament of World Religions

The third Parliament of World Religions was held December 1-8, 1999 in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. This historic event was a gathering of more than 4,000 interfaith workers from around the world. They were there to engage with other cultures in this highly educational, spirit-filled event. There was progress to be made in the areas of dialogue, reconciliation, tolerance, environmental issues, economics, and shared religious beliefs. The divine was present whether one turned within to feel the upsurge of the spirit of truth or looked around to see the passion, joy and commitment in people's actions. For 8 days Cape Town was an oasis of spiritual focus devoted to manifesting the Kingdom of God.

Several people from our community attended. There were 3 different booths where the Urantia Book was exhibited along with related materials. The results were highly successful! In these pages you will read letters inspired from their experience, view photos of the event and surroundings, and be able to view related sites.

It is our hope that you are enriched by this information.
