INTERNATIONAL URANTIA CONFERENCE 2005
YOUTH PROGRAM

Youth of all ages will have a chance to fully participate when they attend this international conference. Rich and balanced experiences will be offered for the following age groups:

            TADPOLES – Babies through “young” 4 year olds – a safe and stimulating environment will be set up for these children and will be staffed with professionals and parent volunteers.

            EXPLORERS – “Older” 4 year olds through 10 (or 11) years – Hands on activities will be offered throughout the conference which will show many of the teachings of The Urantia Book through active metaphors. This experience will involve rotating through interactive Centers weaving the following themes: PRAYERS, PEACE, INTERFAITH, THANKSGIVING, FORGIVENESS, LOVE, AND SERVICE. The Explorers will choose which centers to participate in, and at the end of their conference experience will receive a Certificate of Completion. Details of the specific activities will be listed in a separate flier. The Explorers will also experience the Jerusalem Marketplace (see below)

            UBTWEENS - 11 year olds through 14 years – (Bill needs to supply this description of activities and program.

            TRUTHSEEKERS – 15 year olds through 17 years – (Tom and Fred will supply this description of activities and program.

The JERUSALEM MARKETPLACE will come to life again, for the 4^th international conference! Children of all ages and adults will dress up in costume and experience the rigorous times of Jesus 2002 years ago with crafters, soldiers, priests, dancers, sellers, beggars and robbers. Among the 25 activities, children will choose to try their hand at carpentry, leather making, jewelry making or painting gourds; they will dance to drums and flutes, mix aromatic oils, write in charcoal the prayer Jesus taught his brothers and sisters, and save gold pieces in a pouch to “spend” at the end.

The THOUGHT ADJUSTER CEREMONY will again occur in the tent where children between the ages of 5 and 7 years who have received their thought adjusters will light a candle to symbolize the Light Within, and will be given a certificate acknowledging this event.

SPORTS, GAMES, YOGA FOR KIDS, AND SWIMMING will be offered at scheduled times during the day for interested youth.   AND there is always room for spontaneous activities which the children or adults may come up with as the time of the conference draws near.
