A MODEL OF THE UNIVERSAL FAMILY OF THE SUPREME

1. INNER FAMILY ARENA
This is the foundational family relationship, which will extend outward to all other arenas of family. Here we experience our relationship with God our Universe Father and with the Eternal Mother Son through the Spirit of Truth. This inner family also includes our Thought Adjusters, and our angels. It is upon the strength of this relationship that we will be able to fully manifest and experience relationship in all other arenas of family.
Our inner relationship with God readies us to move from our HOME - our soul - out into contact with the souls of others:
"When you once begin to find God in your soul, presently you will begin to discover him in other men's souls and eventually in all the creatures and creations of a mighty universe. " (UB 1733:1)
"The soul is the child of our personality relationship with our Father-god..." and as these souls come together in the different arenas of family, we are building through our personality relationships with our fellows the living temple of the Mother Supreme." (Dave and Marta Elders)
"You become conscious of man as your creature brother because you arc already conscious of God as your Creator Father." (UB 196)
As we build up and out from this INNER foundational family relationship with God our Father, the Spirit of Truth, and our angels, we are constructing the glorious living temple of the Supreme through six (6) other arenas of family. It is in these arenas that our souls build their muscle; where our bodies and hearts connect to get some work done.
2. FAMILY OF ORIGIN (BIOLOGICAL FAMILY)
Most of us grew up in a family - in our biological family. This arena has provided us with our genetic makeup, some of our abilities and disabilities, our disposition, our talents. This is the beginning of our experience of relationship that has either helped or hindered us in our relationships with God and others around us. Most of us are in intimate relationship with some members of our biological family mother/father/brothers/sisters, etc. This arena of family relationship is often one of the most difficult because we are so intimately affected in the deepest aspects of our lives by what others do and how they live. We have almost no control over this level of family as children. We take what we were dropped into. For some of us who grew up in very difficult family situations, one of our greatest and most painful challenges has been to heal from the wounds left by this family experience and find out what HEALTHY FAMILY is about.
3. HOME FAMILY - PARENT/CHILD/CURRENT FAMILY/CHOSEN FAMILY
This is the arena of family in which we live NOW - whether we are parents with children in the home, students in a fraternity house, children in an orphanage, or folks in a retirement community. From this arena we send our children into the world with a reality base that they are part of a cosmic family and part of their work will be to create HEALTHY relationships with others.
4. COMMUNITY/WORK FAMILY
Whenever we walk out of our home family door we are in our communities - going to school, the cleaners, the gas station, the grocery store. And we have an opportunity to experience another level of the family relationship with a brother or sister.
Strong and intimate relationships are developing in the workplace. More connections are often experienced in the workplace than in neighborhoods; and if one doesn't have a home family, co-workers can fill the desire for closer relationships. We might be with our co-workers more than with our families. If we see them as another arena of family, we have created another opportunity for intimacy with brothers and sisters.
5. FAMILY OF SPIRITUAL KINSHIP
Those who are spiritually like minded in the sense of sharing a particular spiritual path. Catholics, Buddhists, Hindus, for example, would each be a family of spiritual kinship. We as believers that The Urantia Book is the 5th epochal Revelation to our planet, that Jesus was and is who he said he was - the Son of the living God - are a family who are spiritually likeminded. 2,000 years ago Jesus called all who believe the truth that he is the Son of the living God, "...the human fraternity of the divine spirit" (UB 1748)
".... upon this foundation (that he is the Son of the Living God) will I build the brotherhood of the kingdom of heaven. Upon this rock of spiritual reality will I build the living temple of spiritual fellowship in the eternal realities of my Father's kingdom. "
"And ever since that day this same Jesus has been building that living temple upon that same eternal foundation of his divine sonship, and those who thereby become selfconscious sons of God are the human stones which constitute this living temple of sonship erecting to the glory and honor of the wisdom and love of the eternal Father of spirits. " (UB 1748)
6. INTERFAITH FAMILY
The interfaith family is made up of all mortals on various spiritual paths who are following their highest light. "As the universe looks upon an inhabited world, it likewise discerns two great classes: those who know God and those who do not.. " (UB 1468)
7. GLOBAL FAMILY Every mortal on this planet who has the capacity of knowing God is a member of the global family, the world wide family of God.
FATHERLY LOVE
"...Jesus taught his followers to manifest fatherly love rather than brotherly love. Brotherly love would love your neighbor as you love yourself and that would be adequate fufflillment of the "golden rule". But fatherly affection would require that you should love your fellow mortals as Jesus loves you". (UB 1573)
