Ruins of Scythopolis

159:6.4 This city was a relay point for the overnight messenger service which David Zebedee operated between Jerusalem and Bethsaida. Runners left Jerusalem each evening, relaying at Sychar and Scythopolis, arriving in Bethsaida by breakfast time the next morning.

Scythopolis was destroyed by a great earthquake in 749 AD. The excavations reveal columns lying as they fell.
